How sleep affects your weight

Now and days more Americans have become aware of the affects of eating healthy and exercising regularly, but many of us often get frustrated with working this newly found hobby of "staying healthy" into, into our busy lives. This causes a lot of people to simply give up on the whole process. I am saying don't be so quick to give up!! Rest!!! That's right rest in many cases is all you need to put your body back on the right track. Lack of sleep can drive you to poor eating habits. Think about it, you are at work bright and early in the morning after getting about 4 hours of sleep the night before. The first thing you do is grab a cup of coffee to wake yourself up. That holds you for a couple of hours, then its time for another cup to give you that boost again. By the time lunch time roles around most people will have consumed over 4 cups of coffee. That's over 100 calories just from the sugar and creamer (if any is used) alone. Remember you haven't even eaten lunch yet Now, you've made it through your busy work day but you are to tired to cook so you order some fast food, which is unhealthy all in its self. The moral of this story is sleep serves a very important role in maintaining healthy weight. If you had of slept just a little longer you might not have needed 4 cups of coffee to make it through the work day. Now, I know that after reading this you won't magically change your sleeping habits so I will give a list of some healthy alternatives to coffee. There are many supplements that claim to give you all sorts of energy but all they really give you is a crash. Look for supplements that are produced from plant extracts and that contain no sugar like Rhodiolla 110 or Double X multivitamins. These have been proven to produce a normal healthy energy that your body craves.
